Due to local country restrictions for some countries, the Sender ID or originator will be overwritten to a generic alpha ID, local long code, or random short code. Therefore, we would suggest checking our Country info & Restrictions for a better overview.
Sending to the US and Canada
As per the local restrictions for the US and Canada, a virtual number is obligatory if you want to send SMS to these destinations. You can only send a max of 500 SMS per day per virtual number, though we advise to send less SMS per number. Due to capacity limits for the US and Canada we have a Sticky VMN feature available.
What is a Sticky VMN?
Sticky VMN's ensure that the same originating phone number is selected each time a specific recipient receives an SMS from your web application.
Our system will automatically alternate between VMNs. By sending an SMS, you will trigger our system to select a random VMN for the first SMS message and ensure that the selected VMN be reused for all following messages towards a number. Being a sender you would like the recipient to always receive your messages from the same VMN for consistency.
