Due to country restrictions in some countries, the originator (Sender ID) of your messages could be overwritten to a generic sender ID (e.g. INFOSMS), local number, or random shortcode (e.g. 3546).
We are able to register your Sender ID for some countries, so you can keep your desired sender ID.
Therefore, we suggest checking the Country info & Restrictions for detailed information.
Sending to the US and Canada
As per the local restrictions for the US and Canada, a virtual number is obligatory if you want to send SMS to these destinations. You can only send a maximum of 500 SMS per day per virtual number, though we advise sending less SMS per number. Due to capacity limits for the US and Canada, we have a Sticky Virtual Mobile Number (VMN) feature available.
What is a Sticky VMN?
Sticky VMNs ensure that the same originating phone number is selected each time a specific recipient receives an SMS from your web application. This ensures a consistent and trustworthy appearance towards your customers.
Our system will automatically alternate between your VMNs, thus making sure that you stay below the capacity limit. By sending an SMS, you will trigger our system to select a random VMN for the first SMS message which ensures that the selected VMN is reused for all following messages towards this number.
