We store our and your data with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our main storage facilities are located in The Netherlands and Belgium. For our VOICE customers, additional locations have been added in Singapore and South Carolina. Our decision to deploy more locations in the US and APAC regions is dictated by the need for low-latency networking with external suppliers for our Voice product. Both locations serve as gateways to suppliers in these regions. We store data in one of our locations for the sole purpose of qualitative call handling. The location used depends on the distance from the customer, carrier, or available infrastructure (data storage clusters). All locations have the same standards for security, are geographically redundant and are able to run separated from other services, thus improving overall protection and resilience.
Please note that data storage is subject to a thorough evaluation of the MessageBird business and customer needs, the potential risks involved, and the maturity of the cloud platform. The accompanying technologies the present global network offers prompted us to migrate from a traditional on-premises hosting provider to a cloud-based solution.
