A Number can have different capabilities, that is, the service or services you’d like to use with this number:
- SMS enabled
- Voice enabled
You can choose the desired capabilities for a Dedicated Number when you buy it. If you are not sure about the capabilities of one Number you already purchased, go to your Dashboard, go to ‘Numbers’, and under the column ‘Capabilities’ you’ll see the icons of Voice and/or SMS in dark blue when they are enabled and grey if they are disabled.
Based on the Number’s capabilities, you can add Voice, SMS, and/or Webhook Flows. For example, if you have a Voice number, you can’t select it for an SMS flow, meaning, if the Number’s capabilities and the flow type don’t match, Flow Builder will identify the error and won’t let you publish the flow nor trigger it. Remember that you can also attach multiple Numbers from different countries to a single flow.
