Send a Group Message

If you’re looking to send messages to a lot of contacts at the same time, there are a few different ways to do this:

  • You can manually define the group beforehand in the Contacts section (or automatically when you import them).
  • You can manually add/select multiple contacts in step 2 of sending an SMS within the Dashboard.
  • You can enter a list of contacts from outside your MessageBird account.
  • You can use the Bulk Messaging Application located in your dashboard menu to set this up completely from an Excel file.

To see how to manually add contacts to a group, or to bulk import them into a group, have a look at these articles: Add Contacts to Group & Import Contacts.

If you’re in step 2 of sending a message, you have the option to add Contacts from phonebook, Groups from phonebook or submit your own numbers.

Contacts from phonebook allows you to select from all contacts available in your account.

Groups from phonebook gives you direct selection of the groups available.

Submit your own numbers gives you a popup screen (like below), where you can copy+paste a list of numbers as text, or with a .csv file.
